Artist Statement
My paintings are a mixture of paint, steel and stone used to create multi dimensional stories. They are rich in whimsy and emotion!
I push past conventional boundaries of painting by constructing the fore and mid grounds out of steel and stone. This produces depth, dimension and essential lines of movement to my works. I draw my inspiration from a simpler time and the pure elements of life using animals, childhood memories, the human form and motion.
Currently I am working on two different series. The first deals with reinterpreting children’s stories, proverbs and superstitious wives tales using a literal and whimsical analysis. The other series focuses on motion and movement and the unseen path.
