A Moment In Time and Space

This body of work encompasses two and a half years of introspection and curious musings about who we are, how we got here and what makes us individuals.

The anchor work in the show is about slowing down and taking the time to process the world in this very reactionary time. Each piece is an autobiographical vignette that details an idea, an emotion or an event. A snippet of time in my journey as an artist and our journey as human beings.

The kinetic and mechanical nature of my work celebrates the non static world we live in. Even though the world came to a halt in 2020, our dreams and hope for the future did not. With the influence of pop culture from the not-too distant past, the work conveys hope via bright colors, movement and a homage to the Googie aesthetic.

This series spans four avenues of expression:

1. Larger scale sculptural and more traditional free standing sculpture that focus's on a kinetic and mechanical means of communicating      ideas and emotions.

2. Relief wall hanging pieces of varying shapes and sizes.

3. Maquettes of a uniform base size of 16" x 10".

4.  A SoCal subculture of innovation pieces created with skateboards as an integral element in the series narrative.
